Learn About the history of Philippe Harold Jewellers
The man on the picture working on his client’s jewellery piece is Philippe Jacubowitz. He is the founder of one of the oldest family jewellery businesses in Antwerp created in 1937. Together with his son, Harold Jacubowitz, joining in 1971 the company has built an international reputation based on mutual trust and confidence with professional jewellers and suppliers to the Royal Courts of England and the Netherlands.
For Jacubowitz, a graduate of Antwerp’s Academy of Fine Arts, jewellery making is not about mass production.
“I do not make jewellery items with a commercial state of mind. I create jewellery that I think is beautiful, not because it will sell in large quantities.” He makes customized, one-off pieces that he sells to jewellers and to retailers. At the age of 71 and over 50 years of professional activity, Harold decided to retire and focus on his future activities on the wonderful world of the arts exclusively.
In 2021, Philippe Harold enjoys an ambitious business project managed by a younger generation of accredited jewellers. After more than 30 years building a respected reputation in the diamond district in Antwerp themselves, Natela & Chamil wanted to add their decades of experience and passion in luxury jewellery to the brand name Philippe Harold. Reinforced by 2 young and ambitious managers, Benjamin & Edouard, Philippe Harold will face a bright future where customers will enjoy a modern and luxury diamond experience.
